Throwback: Plants in Spain

Intro note: I posted this entry in my old personal blog back when I was living in Spain as a graduate student in 2013.

When people ask me what I want to do after my masters, I automatically say, "gardening". And I'm not kidding, I really want to start gardening and plant flowers and herbs, and you know, just get my spices and lemons and chili and baby tomatoes from the garden. It's my plan.

I'm starting now, and this is just an update of my plants here in Tarragona. Gardening is not easy. It requires patience and love and I think needs good practice too!

My first ever plants here were poinsettias. I can't find any photos, and I am too lazy to take another one so I will post there photos later. I have three pots of this species but one died while I was in Paris. :(

My lavender plant. I read on the internet that it wants sunlight and not much water, so one time I placed it on direct sunlight and didn't water for the day. Guess what happened? The lower stems dried out huhuhu. I don't know what to do. The flowers look like they are blooming but the lower stems are brownish.. I hope they don't die.

This is my basil plant! I'm so happy with it, that every dinner I just pick some leaves and put it on my salad!

Can't wait to go home to Manila and start planting!
