Before anything else, I am speaking for those who live in the tropics. Taking care of plants has a lot of factor such as sunlight, temperature, humidity etc.
Calathea ornata
Calathea ornata are also called pinstripe plants because of the long elegant lines on its foliage. They belong to the big big genus Calathea. I was immediate mesmerized by the pink lines and even more sold it in before of the purple color of its back leaves. I also noticed that it closes its leave (I mean the foliage closes???) at night... I mean seriously, how is this plant even real?
I bought a bunch for my vertical garden and to be honest, I am quite nervous at that time because what if I don't know how to take care of it. When I asked the seller (actually maybe it's the seller's children because they were kids, they don't know as well). IT WILL BE MASS MURDER! So anyway, I was lucky because they are still alive after two months.
I suppose it likes bright indirect light. All the leaves are facing the where the light is. I also noticed how it loves humidity. They are currently planted in a well-drained pots and I water them daily to keep the soil moist, not wet. In the morning I also mist the leaves. Happy to announce that here are new foliage growing as well.

Calatheas are non-toxic to humans and pets. And it is air-purifying too!
